The Brief

Our long-standing client and leading EV charging solutions manufacturer, Rolec Services asked us to help them develop their new flagship domestic EV charger following the success of the Wallpod product we designed from them over a decade ago.

The changes in customer needs, regulations and EV technology required Rolec to develop a new charging solution for multi-vehicle households as well as small commercial customers. The brief was to present the new technological advances brought by the Zura in a package that portraited its advanced features and customisable nature.

The Process

A project like this requires a considerable amount of design time. We supported our client by providing services from our Foundation and Feasibility, Concept Generation, Design and Engineering, Prototyping and Manufacturing phases of our process. Working closely and in collaboration with Rolec’s in-house technical team we were able to develop and resolve the product design within 6 months before producing numerous cosmetic prototypes for testing and launch events.

The Result

Our design offers a modular product that can be sold as a single or dual vehicle charger with a modern look and customisable front panel that can be adapted to suit its surroundings or taste of the owner.
