Hatton Stacking Chair

We were asked to create a stylish, elegant and premium stacking injection moulded chair for use in multipurpose spaces. Important criteria of the design were that it must nest efficiently and be stable when stacked, have minimal side action in the tooling to minimise tool size and expense and look right in a variety of setting such as dining, education and social environments.

We initially developed a number of design schemes for the chair using our concept generation skills which were presented to the client and their favourite identified for development. Following this, detailed 3D CAD was created and used directly to manufacture production tooling from. 2D inspection drawings were also supplied along with technical support and input during the tooling phase.

Moulded in polypropylene with UV stabiliser the Hatton chair it is equally at home with indoor or outdoor use and features an integrated lifting grip in the seat back for easy reconfiguring of a space. Moulded in a range of dynamic colours to compliment any contemporary interior, the design has been utilised in hundreds of installations since its launch.
